ROBODOZ3R (English version)

It is day of another robot, and this week I chose to build one of the bonus models provided by Lego. The chosen  robot is called ROBODOZ3R and it was created by Mark Crosbie. As the name says, this robot is like a bulldozer, that we will already be able to see the details. The instructions for building this robot can be found in the software for programming the robots  (which can be downloaded from the Lego website).
It's a robot with many details similar to a real Bulldozer, with caterpillars forming a triangle, its giant "shovel", its bonnet and even a cabin with a small chair!

In this robot, the two large motors allow the locomotion of the robot, and the medium motor allows raising and lowering the shovel. As for the sensors, it is used the infrared sensor, that allows the robot to be controlled by the remote control, or driving autotically in a sort of "autopilot" way, avoiding obstacles; it is also used the touch sensor with an essential function, which will be explained below.

The program for this robot (and the other bonus models of Lego) is already done with the assembly instructions, but as I like to know what I'm doing, I analyzed the program in order to understand how the robot works and be able to explain here!
Three different programs are available. The first and most complex is to control the robot with the remote control until the touch sensor is pressed. At that time, the robot ceases to be controlled by  the remote control and switches to autopilot mode, driving and avoiding obstacles, until, again, it is pressed the touch sensor and it returns to be controlled by the remote! (I just made a tiny change in the program, placing the logo of the Blog on the intelligent brick display.
The program is also running a loop in the background that allows you to stop the program when pressed the center button of Intelligent Brick.
The second program only serves to control the robot via remote control, and the third only to lower and raise the shovel. This is why I will only run the first program in the video.

We can now see the ROBODOZ3R in action, with the first version of the program running.
