MIND STORMiDEAS is a blog created
to promote the theme of LEGO MINDSTORMS in Portugal, since this is a rare theme
to see here! Nevertheless, I think lots of people would love it!
I had the opportunity to buy this set
recently, and honestly it was a purchase that exceeded my expectations!
This is a set that includes nearly 600 Technic
pieces, an infrared sensor, 3 servo motors (two large and one medium), a touch
sensor, a color/brightness sensor , a
remote control that allows you to control the different robots if you wish to,
and the most important of all, the programmable "brick" improved over
the previous version! Also included is a practice mat to the varied functions
of TRACK3R. (Batteries are not included).
The sensors were redesigned and are more effective than the NXT 2.0's version, and the programmable brick, now, has more internal memory and capacity for a microSD card, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi connectivity.
I advise you guys that before you begin to assemble, you should organize the pieces by category, as it will facilitate the work and save you time! (see the photos)
Also take the opportunity to save these same pieces by categories ... You can buy boxes, or modify ones like I did.
Before making the purchase, I had read
different opinions, and I saw some comments saying that the number of pieces to
the "core" was very small, it was just more pieces to the "outside"
but others were saying the exact opposite! Honestly I think the number of
pieces is sufficient, though a few more pieces would be great ... But this does
not become an obstacle.
Lego provides instructions for models
such as:
- TRACK3R: a
simple robot, easy to assemble and program with varied functions (is the only
one that comes with physical instructions);
-SPIK3R: a robot
that looks like a kind of scorpion;
-EV3RSTORM: the
most popular of all, it is the "classic" robot;
-R3PTAR: A robotic
snake that has very interesting movements;
-GRIPP3R: a robot
that has claws and has the ability to lift objects;
(these last 4 come
with instructions in the program provided by Lego, in the site, or in the same
program where the robots are programmed).
and still other
bonuses available models in the same program or site!
The programming is
relatively simple, easy to learn and understand. It is used a system of blocks,
which facilitates the organization and the understanding of what you're
doing.
Soon I will begin
to share the different robots, with the respective description and
opinion!
In conclusion, the
truth is that it is an expensive set, but who has the chance should try to get
one, especially those who like technology, Lego and above all, those who have
CREATIVITY!
