Today's robot is SPIK3R, which is provided by Lego. Unlike TRACK3R, the instructions are only available in the software that you can download on the Lego site, and that is the same where you program the robots!
This one is definitely a more complex robot than TRACK3R, both for those who are building and for those who only see once built! What I found most "difficult" was to assemble the legs, it has an interesting mechanism for this to move forward, backward, and still feel that are these that make it walk! (all this is visible in the video below) Despite that, Lego continues with the good work of making clear and simple instructions, which made this part the best and where I learned more assembling techniques to apply in my constructions!
It can be programmed in two different ways, one in which he seeks nearby objects and when it finds them, it fires the ball against them (NOTE: He shoots to his location, but if the objectt is too small is more likely to fail the target in height ); and the other is to make it look for the infrared beacon, which were added some very funny props, shoot him 3 balls and then go towards it with its forefeet, lets say.
One detail that I have not mentioned in the other blog posts, is that at the end of the construction of the robots provided by Lego, is given us to choose the option to open the completed program or program step by step! Obviously I chose to program step by step, to be able to understand how things work .... The program is also noticeably longer, more complex and with new situations.
(Full program below, to compare with the previous one).
Here is the video mentioned above, where you can check everything described:
